Does a sauna add value to your home? My boyfriend just bought a house that has a small sauna in the basement. He won't ever use the sauna, so he wants to take it out and make that space into a closet for his work clothes. I told him that the sauna may add value to his home and to dismantle it might be a bad idea. Am I right? Thank you!
What are the effects of entering a dry sauna before exercise? I go to the gym regularly, and recently I started doing the dry sauna. At the gym I like to run, swim, or do the elliptical. What are the effects of entering the sauna before exercise?
What materials are best for Sauna door that opens to steam shower? We're doing a residential bathroom where a 4'x6' Sauna Room opens up into a Steam Shower. I've heard it's best to avoid wood in the Steam Shower, but what can we do when the Sauna interior is Cedar, and the Steam Shower must be all glass & ceramic tile? Will a Wood Framed Glass Door hold up over time? Appreciate any advice anyone might have!

what are the benefits of using a sauna or dry bath? I know many say it detoxifies the body. But I also know that a lot of people don't believe in body detox. Others say weight loss. I know for sure that any weight you lose in a sauna is just water weight and will be gained back. Myself, I go in the sauna to relax after I swim or workout. But I'd like to know if there is any benefit?
How would you install salt tiles in a sauna? Infared Dry Sauna reaches max temp of 150 degrees F. I am familiar with installing Porcelain and Ceramic tiles on floors and countertops. But someone is asking about replacing windows in his dry sauna Himalayan salt tiles. Do you still use cement? How about the grout? Will the salt tiles be able to be cut with a standard saw blade or a diamond blade or something else? Thats supposed to say replace the windows with the Himalayan salt tiles.
Is there any scientific proof that having a sauna is good for you? Whenever I have carried out a search on the internet the only websites which discuss the health benefits of saunas are those which are either selling saunas or the websites of sauna associations! One could say that they have a vested interest in telling us that saunas are beneficial! But is there any medical proof?
Is it safe to shower in a sauna when the stove is turned off? Will it harm an electric sauna stove if it gets wet when it's not on? Also is there a simple reason why the stove will shut off automatically after about 15 minutes even if the timer is set to an hour or more? We think it might be a problem with the sensor that's mounted on the wall that we assume measures the temperature as a safety shut off kinda thing. Thanks!

Can a lengthy sauna session make you look noticeably thinner? I'm not thinking of doing this regularly - I just thought maybe before an event it would be nice. I've heard a person can lose up to 7-8 pounds in the sauna (obviously I know it's water and it's temporary). If that's true I think it really could make a difference in how one looks - especially in the face. Anyone know?
Does Sauna after a workout help build up your muscles? There’s a sauna at my gym. I heard that going into the sauna after a workout in the gym helps build up you muscles. Is it true or is it just good for cleansing your pores and body? My primary goal is not just to bulk up, but to get a good athletic body with visible muscles. The sauna takes up some time however and I feel too relaxed and sleepy after the sauna. So, should I go into the sauna after a workout?

Is it possible to build a combined sauna and steamroom? I am looking at installing either a sauna or steamroom in my home but finding it a difficult decision which way to go so was wondering if the two could somehow be combined. I understand a sauna is a dry heat with timber internals whilst a steamroom is a moist heat with tiled internals. This would suggest both different heating methods and internals would be required so would appear to be difficult to achieve.
