What are steam rooms and saunas actually used for?
I was just wondering what kind of purpose saunas and steam rooms actually serve. I know they are really relaxing but do they have any other benefits as well? Thanks! X

- They make you sweat. Sweating removes impurities from your skin and body
- To Detoxify the body, and for relaxtion!
- Yes there are benefits! Health benefits. The benefits are: 1. It improves your metabolism. 2. It reduces stress and fatigue. 3. It improves your circulation system, which is your blood circulating your body. 4. It reduces toxins, a reason why you look so full of life after being in the sauna. 5. And like everything else that makes you sweat, it helps lose weight. 6. It also relaxes muscles and that allows you to fight the pain of the microtears, which are what helps make your muscles grow bigger. The micro tears are a good thing but they do hurt from time to time and your muscles do need a good relaxing period so the sauna is a good way to go.
- steam rooms and saunas are used to open the pores of your skin allowing all the dirt and impurities to leave your body. then you must take a cold shower afterwards or get into a cold swimming pool to close your pores back up again. hope this helps
