  1. yes it opens up your pores
  2. No they dry out face, making it harder to shed dead skin. However if you have really oilly skin then oil and not dryness is your problem and steam rooms would be fine.
  3. The idea is that you sweat out a lot of toxins and this will in turn clear up your skin. You have to clean yourself too afterwards
  4. not really cus it makes u sweat alot...try steaming a towel instead and applying it to ur face followed by w.e acne treatments u have..the steam opens ur pores so the medication can easily get in deap and treat ur skin faster...but after u apply ur medication, let ur towel cool and apply it cold to ur face again..this will close ur pores so no dirt gets in..hope this helps! good luck =D
  5. Hello. Steam rooms are good for you,but won't neccessarily cure your pimples.Everyone at one stage of their lives has this problem. One can get from a Chemist or beauty shop, a plastic mask which fits over face, and lets steam out,and this cleanses pores in skin. A little less drastic than a steam room. My Mom used to apply hot,wet flannels to my face, then cold ones. And she also used Witchhazel on skin as an astringent. Again your Chemist would know. One thing I have discovered with Americans-is their love for Peanut Butter. This is a highly saturated fat, causing high cholestrol, and oily skin. Diets including green veg-Broccoli,Spinach,peas,cabbage etc are good. Fish but not too oily, and lean meats such as chicken. Cut out high fats, and greasy foods. Exercise whilst good for you, won't cure pimples. But you will grow out of them. Good Luck!
